Flip up Seats to Give Kids a Comfy Ride; Flip Seats Down for More Storage
Winner of awards including the National Parenting Publications Gold Award and the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio’s Gold Seal Award, the Pathfinder is smaller than the Radio Flyer’s Ultimate Family Wagon, but still roomy. Two kids can ride comfortably, or one child can ride with plenty of extra room for storage. Even three smaller kids might be able to ride in this versatile wagon (but keep in mind there are only two seat belts).

The flip-up seats provide back support for the young ones, but don’t recline, which would be nice for sleepy kids. The Pathfinder is made of sturdy plastic, in Radio Flyer’s trademark red color. Assembling the wagon is fairly easy, but it does take a little time to get it right, and you should follow the illustrated instructions carefully.

A Classic Wagon Just Gets Better
Radio Flyer has been making wagons since 1923. Besides good, old-fashioned durability and great design, this solid wagon offers plenty of extras, including cup holders, an extra long handle, and flip-up seats. Safety features such as seat belts and non-tip turning are popular features for parents. The roominess of the Pathfinder means you can haul a lot of kids and toys, but beware, when fully loaded, it can get heavy.

This is a fantastic wagon! I had searched the internet looking for the best wagon re: durability, comfort, capacity, price AND SAFETY. This is the only one that keeps your children securely in the wagon– providing a seat belt complete with between-the-legs strap. It handles very well both pulling and pushing, and takes corners without a hint of tipping. The handle stays upright when you’re not moving and doesnt pinch little fingers. The area between the wheels and the wagon is large enough for fingers to pass freely without pinching either. The wheels are quiet, and the cup holders have been a big hit for my three kids. Although it technically seats two, all three of my boys, (ages 4, 3, and 1 yr) have ridden in it at the same time—and it was still easy to move! I love this wagon and strongly recommend it!

After doing much research to find the perfect wagon, we decided to buy this one for our 20 month old daughter. What a nice wagon! It assembled easily in a matter of minutes and the wheels are rubber which makes it a much nicer (and quieter) ride than the plastic wheels on other makes. We love the fact that this model has straps–this helps so that she doesn’t try to stand up and keeps her more in place. The seats fold down to make use for other jobs if needed. The cup holders are a nice touch too. This wagon seems to be one that our daughter will have fun growing in to and be able to cart her toys around in when she gets older. It is not too big and klunky or too tiny–it seems to be just the right size. A good buy!

Radio Flyer Pathfinder Wagon, November 16, 2003

On the positive side…We love this wagon! It has taken the place of my double stroller for my 11 month old and my 2 1/2 year old. It’s easier to maneuver than a stroller and easier to get the kids in and out. The option of seats with seat belts is a must for little kids who wouldn’t otherwise be able to use a wagon. Other postives are that the handle stays upright when you push it all the way up, and there’s a little groove underneath the back of the wagon to make it easy to grab and lift up over curbs.

On the negative side…with the seats in use, there’s not much room to tuck the diaper bag, snack bag or whatever, so packing light is a good idea. And, of course, the seats don’t recline, so sleepy kids need to find other ways to get comfortable. We’ve also had a couple squirmishes over whose feet go where since they’re all in the middle. I also tried to use the wagon with two toddlers and the baby in the seat, but it was too tight for three kids.

Overall, I’m thrilled with this wagon. And, by the way, I found it in a store near me for about half the price I would’ve paid if it were shipped to me. It’s worth it to shop around.

This review is from: Double Jogging Stroller Rain Cover (Baby Product)

I’m in a situation where I (stupidly) didn’t buy the rain cover for my stroller when I bought the stroller. I’m in Oregon, what was I thinking? Once I came to my senses and realized I needed one the stroller manufacturer had changed their models’ styling and no longer have a double stroller with 2 wheels in front. I emailed them to ask if the new cover would fit my year-old stroller and got no reply. I really didn’t want to spend $45-50 on a cover that might not fit, so I tried looking for a more generic cover. I’m so glad I did!

This cover is so much cheaper and it does the job. No, it doesn’t fit tightly, but it’s vinyl and I’m glad fresh air is getting in there to my kids so I see that as a plus. My daughter sometimes hates having it over her shoes but the generically placed velcro means that I can still keep my son covered and dry while the 2yo gets a little rain on her hands. All in all I’m very thankful I tried the cheaper generic cover because I think her hissy fits would have meant I couldn’t have used all the lock-down snaps on the more expensive custom cover, if it would have worked on our stroller at all.

I would give the thing 5 stars if it wasn’t for all the time I had to have it sit in our mud room off-gassing before I was willing to use it.

So it would work just fine. However if you have a 19 month old sitting in the stroller that gives the whole thing a good kick, the two strapes on the bottom pop right of the cover and make it useless.

Edit, even though the two straps had popped off way to easily I have managed to fix it and make it even better. Just attach some velcro to the parts of the stroller and the parts of the cover that you want to connect. A bit of extra work, but really worth the time and the effort.
